The Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association invites active SRO officers to breakfast on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Salina, KS.
Dan Sperry, a juvenile detective for the Bonneville Co. Sheriff’s Office in Idaho Falls, Idaho will be presenting “Makayla’s Story” (, a program about his 11 year daughter Makayla who was killed in her own front yard by a driver that failed to stop for her school bus. He will provide insight to the incident from the eyes of a dad and police officer. He will discuss what parents, bus drivers, school districts, and law enforcement can do to address the issue of stop arm violation and keeping school bus riders safe and alive.
Attendance at this breakfast will be complimentary to the first 50 SROs who’d like to attend. Limited to 1 ticket per person.
