KSJOA recognizes the "triad" concept developed by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) for school-based policing. It divides the responsibilities of the SRO into three areas: teacher, informal counselor and law enforcement officer. SROs work in schools alongside educators to help teach and mentor students while also providing a visible police presence to help protect our schools. For additional information about NASRO, including training opportunities, please visit the National Association of School Resource Officers webpage.
